If you would like your society to be added to this list, e-mail Alex Holowczak with the date, time and where you meet, a contact name, phone number and e-mail address, and a link to any website your society may have.
The benefits of your society affiliating to BUCA are:
If you’re looking to start up a chess society, or looking for equipment for your existing society, BUCA, in partnership with Chess & Bridge can offer the following:
5 sets – one “set” includes a plastic box, a set of tournament-standard pieces, and a folding board. 5 sets cost £50.
DGT Easy+ chess clock – a clock that allows users to play competitive games of chess against other people or teams, and have the games graded. The cost for this will be £24.95.
To claim these deals, please go to www.chess.co.uk and purchase the products in question. You will need to e-mail email@example.com in order to obtain the promotional code to entitle you to these discounts.
If you wish to have your internal games graded, you can have them graded by BUCA for free, on condition that all players involved are ECF members. You must provide the following information: (i) Names of both players (ii) Result of the game (iii) Time control of the game. The results of the game will appear in the next six-monthly grading list. For more about ECF grading, see here.
You can become an ECF member online by clicking "going to the ECF website”.
In order to be eligible for this, Universities must have completed and returned the BUCA membership form for that season, and paid the necessary membership fee.
Submit the form or forms to firstname.lastname@example.org upon completion.
BUCA reserves to alter the above quoted rates from time-to-time. Notices to that effect will be published at such a time.
